I first visited IbogaQuest, Tepotzlan, in November 2025 after deciding to continue with my goals regarding my psychospiritual expansion. As a long-time meditator and disciplined, motivated seeker using effective spiritual practice on the path toward spiritual awakening, I had a keen interest in unearthing remaining but hidden, suppressed and repressed shadow material from deep in my unconscious. At the time, I was struggling with some intense personal and health challenges and although I'd benefitted from supervised therapeutic sessions with other plant medicines, I felt called to sit with Ibogaine. Friends and family were initially alarmed with the idea, but eventually came around, particularly after witnessing the results. From the very start of my application process, all the way through to returning to the airport on my way home from IbogaQuest, the entire professional team was thoroughly patient, responsive and caring. Their expertise and experience made all the difference. Of note is that, prior to contacting IbogaQuest, I had contacted two other prominent facilities but after going through their application process with them, I received a stellar recommendation from a friend who'd been to IbogaQuest, which shifted my focus and I applied there. After experiencing my own gains, and after witnessing the transformational shifts made by others in my group, I'm convinced that IbogaQuest offers a unique, less "automated" healing venue that supports and induces a result that is potentially of a higher order of magnitude. This is because they currently only offer a one-week session, once monthly only: They are not running a numbers game, but instead limit their client intake to once monthly that ensures that they can meet the particular emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of those who under their care. For this reason they do not come off as burned out, or exhausted, and instead are bright, relaxed and ready to greet the new group. It's so evident how much care and love they bring to their endeavor. They're right beside us, every step of the way, coaching, inspiring and encouraging us. The process in sitting with Ibogaine as opposed to sitting with other psychedelics can be challenging but produces gains that, I believe, far exceed the potential gains offered by other plant medicines, and for one very important reason: The egoic structure cannot co-opt the power of Ibogaine, the Grandfather of all psychedelics. This perspective comes from having experienced many therapeutic sessions with other psychedelics, including ayahuasca, 5meo-DMT and MDMA and psilocybin. In fact, my gains were so extraordinary, that only three months following my return back home, I felt called to book a second trip and to return again to IbogaQuest in April 2026. There was never a moment of doubt that I wanted to return to same place. As was the case with my first visit there, the comfort, cleanliness, ambience and care by the team, including the expansive and delicious prepared meals and snacks by their culinary staff, ensured a complete support system. The ever-present, watchful eyes of the therapeutic team ensured that our needs and comfort were their priority and were met and exceeded. Iboga Quest exceeded my expectations. I felt secure and well attended. I was pleasantly surprised by the additional activities like the Jan Tsu and the Temexcal. Food was healthy and delicious…they even made a Tres Leches cake for my birthday. Ibogaine is intense and puts you in a vulnerable position…which is part of the process. Having a safe environment and good sitters is important. This place felt much more like a home or retreat, rather than a sterile medical facility, which is what I preferred . I cannot recommend attending Ibogaquest enough. It was the most life changing and meaningful experience I could have asked for.
